Hello live music friends,
who doesn't remember the legendary video in which even J.B. and Kyle were already sitting - of course I only noticed what felt like 38 years later, when I saw Dave Grohl on the drumset at Tenacious D. ...
You just have to love this song. At the end of the first year of the Rurtonsession, we had decided to knock out a classic and record it for you. Robin's idea with a 360 degree video came at the right time.
Since the whole thing degenerated into a kind of Christmas party anyway, guests had to come here who not only know something on the guitar, but also afterwards on the glass! Since Denis and I share an incredible live and studio history with Marvin and Pablo, it was a pleasure for us to play such a heart song with our favorite rockers. Isn't it nice when a punk rocker meets a filigree technician and both of them shape the whole thing with their playing style, right?
So we wish you a good start into the new year with our Foo Fighters cover,
Marcel

■ ABOUT THE RURTON SESSION ■■■■■■■■■■■
The rurtonsession is a new series of live sessions straight from the rurtonstudio. Denis Sarp (drums), Christoph Chudaska (bass), Marcel Stoffels (vocals, guitar, musical direction) and Markus Wimmer (sound engineering, rurtonstudio) regularly invite guest artists who either perform their own song or a cover song live. Without much preparation, we try to convey a real live feeling and give insights into our way of working.
From a technical point of view, we choose one of several live takes and don't overdubs. It is a matter close to our hearts to keep everything authentic and to refrain from editing.
As you hear it here, it took place. Unfiltered, without make-up, by us for you.
I wish you a lot of fun,
Denis, Chris, Marcel and Markus
